We've come up with this suggested itinerary for you. Admire the beautiful Cathedral & Curtain fig trees, enjoy cheese & chocolate at Gallo, followed by some local gin at Mount Uncle and coffee in Mareeba before heading home.
port douglas
Stunning port town ~ 40 minutes from our house. Start with brekky at The Little Larder before checking out Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary to come up close and personal with our wildlife (saltwater crocs included - get there before 11 to not miss it!). Spend the afternoon exploring the boutiques along Macrossan Street before finishing the day with a beer at Hemingways and dinner at Salsa's. If you're there on Sunday, don't miss the markets!
The oldest rainforest in the world awaits you! Head up early to enjoy a river cruise to see crocodiles, discover the best ice cream at Daintree Ice Cream. Explore the rainforest by zip lining through the trees at Treetops Adventure or enjoy the view at Cape Tribulation Beach.

Large gorge accessible at all levels of difficulty:
- Range of walking tracks of varying difficulty.

Beautiful gorge north of Port Douglas with enjoyable Aboriginal cultural centre onsite.
How long to get there: 1-1.5 hours
fig trees
Worth a visit up to the Tablelands to see these wonderful, ancient trees (Cathedral Fig and Curtain Fig).

Snorkelling
Small group snorkelling tours leaving from Port Douglas with maximum 12 people per boat.
The last family/locally run outfit running out of Port Douglas. Marine biologists on board, and they provide snacks all day long.
